WhatsApp reminders

How WhatsApp messages are sent to clients.

By Sagarnu Team

WhatsApp messages about individual appointments — confirmation, reminder, cancellation and reschedule — are sent through the official WhatsApp Business API and arrive as regular WhatsApp messages on the client's phone.

Messages are not sent from a number you own — they go out through Sagarnu, so a client who replies to one is not writing to you. What identifies the business is inside the message: it carries your business name. The confirmation, the reminders and the reschedule notice also carry a link to the booking page, which is where a client cancels.

When a WhatsApp message is sent

  • The message is on in Settings → Notifications, and the WhatsApp channel is on for it. The WhatsApp channel status is shown in Settings → WhatsApp.
  • The account is active and has not reached its sending cap: by default that is the plan's message allowance, with a custom cap it is that cap, and if you chose to keep sending beyond the allowance there is no cap.
  • The client's number has WhatsApp active.

If the WhatsApp send fails and SMS is on for that message, Sagarnu tries SMS. If SMS is not on, the message is not sent on another channel.

Group classes have no automatic messages at the moment.

What is sent and when, and how many messages are included — see WhatsApp reminders for clients.
