What are no-shows costing you?
Three numbers you already know, and you get the monthly and yearly cost — plus the share a cancellation fee can actually recover, which is far smaller than it sounds.
How many appointments you book in an average month
What a no-show typically costs you — not the average across all your appointments.
Out of every 100 appointments, how many do not turn up. Not sure? How to measure it.
Your numbers
Your numbers appear here once all three fields hold a value in range. Nothing is pre-filled — the result is computed from your figures only.
And if you charge a cancellation fee — how much comes back?
Israel's Consumer Protection Regulations (Cancellation of Transaction), 5771-2010, cap a cancellation fee at 5% of the transaction or ₪100 — whichever is lower. The ₪100 leg only binds above ₪2,000, so across the whole range of an ordinary appointment the ceiling is always 5%.
These figures are revenue that did not arrive, not profit that was lost: if a missed appointment has variable costs you did not incur — materials, travel — your real shortfall is smaller. Those regulations govern consumer transaction cancellation. Whether a deposit on an appointment falls under them depends on how the arrangement is written — a question for your lawyer, not this page. One more limit: the ceiling stops being proportional above ₪2,000, so if your no-shows are split between cheap and very expensive treatments, the recoverable figure here is an overestimate.
What that actually means
Even if the regulations apply to you and you charge the maximum on every no-show, at least 95% of the loss stays with you — and more than that on an expensive treatment, because above ₪2,000 the ceiling freezes at ₪100. If they do not govern your arrangement, what you may charge is settled somewhere other than this page. A cancellation fee is not an economic answer to no-shows — it is a deterrent. What moves the number is the customer remembering, and being able to cancel early enough that the hour goes to somebody else.
